Assign Hardware from the Enrollee Profile
Hardware can be assigned to an enrollee from within the enrollee's profile page. Follow the steps below to assign a device.
Assigning Hardware in the Enrollee Profile
- Navigate to the enrollee's profile in which you wish to assign hardware to.
- Select the "Hardware" tab
- If assigning a ShadoWatch, ShadowDevice, or ShadowCuff, this will be done under the "Device" tab
- Select the "Actions" button and choose the correct hardware type
- A pop-up window will appear with all available devices
- Select the correct Device ID number from the list (The "Search" button allows for the user to type in all or a portion of the Device ID for quick searching)
- Double-click on the correct Device ID number from the list
- Once the device has been selected, you will see information appear in the "Device Communication" section. To better understand the information within this section, refer to articles ShadoWatch Device Communication Details, ShadowDevice Communication Information, or ShadowCuff Device Communication Information.
Parent entities can assign devices to enrollees within their sub-entity accounts without transferring the devices to the sub-entity’s inventory. However, please note that unless a device is officially transferred to a sub-entity, users within that sub-entity will not have access to key device data under the Hardware tab.
This includes Device Communication logs, charging status, battery health, and other critical information. As long as the device remains in the parent entity’s account, only the parent entity will be able to view this data.
To ensure that sub-entity users can access and monitor essential device information, the device must be transferred into the sub-entity’s inventory.
If assigning hardware to an enrollee that is not yet activated in the ShadowtrackONE platform, the enrollee will become active upon hardware assignment.
Hardware can also be unassigned from the Hardware tab in the Enrollee profile. Simply go to the enrollee's profile > Hardware tab. Select "Actions" > "Unassign". You will select either "Return to Inventory" or "Out of Service". If "Out of Service" is selected, a reason will need to be selected from the dropdown, and the device can no longer be reassigned.
Once the hardware has been assigned, it is recommended to reboot the device to ensure communication with the platform.
