ShadowGuardian Overview

ShadowGuardian

ShadowGuardian is a solution that provides real-time monitoring paired with a mobile GeoZone to create an added layer of security for victims. By creating a mobile GeoZone around the victim, an alert will trigger if the enrollee crosses that proximity, notifying the victim in real-time that the enrollee is in the area.  Push notifications are sent to the victim through the EnrolleeApp, alerting the victim of the proximity breach.

ShadowGuardian details:

  1. The ShadowGuardian solution enables a floating zone of 1000 ft (304 m) around the victim.
  2. The floating zone moves with the victim every 50 meters, providing constant and accurate monitoring.
  3. Buffer Zones can be added to the victim's floating zone from within the victim's profile > Services tab. This buffer zone will trigger a Within Exclusion Zone Buffer Zone alarm when the enrollee enters the buffer zone proximity.
  4. An automatic alert is sent to the victim via Push Notification, notifying them that the enrollee is in the area, as well as when the enrollee has left the area. A protocol step MUST be configured within the enrollee's profile for the victim to receive notification.
  5. Alarms can be found in both the victim and enrollee profiles in the "Alarms" sub-tab under "History", as well as the "AlarmsDashboard in the Navigational Menu under the"Devices" tab.
  6. When the victim opens the push notification, this can be seen within the protocol steps of the event details. The step will be labeled "Completed" and the word "Acknowledged" can be seen in the alarm/clear step.
  7. An SOS number can be entered in the victim's profile and dialed from the app by pressing the "SOS" button.
  8. A Victim Agreement is presented upon the victim's login and must be acknowledged within the app. A record of this acknowledgment can be found within the Victim's profile in the platform.
  9. The Victim's Logged In and Logged Out status will be displayed within the Victim's compliance tab.
  10. When a victim logs out of the app, an automated email is sent to all TenantAdmins within the entity.
  11. An automated notification is sent to the victim through the app if an updated location isn't detected within 24 hours. This is based on the previously obtained location. This could simply be because the victim has not moved locations during that period, or the app may not be running in the background.
  12. An automated notification is sent to the victim when the enrollee's account is deactivated, letting the victim know that the enrollee is no longer being monitored and that they can safely log out of and delete the app.

Alarm Timeline:

When an alarm is triggered all location points during the duration of the event will be stored. This can be found by viewing the Alarm Timeline which is indicated by the bar graph button at the end of the alarm row.
  1. All victim location points are stored from the trigger of the alarm until the clear of the alarm
  2. Victim location points are displayed in purple, while the enrollee location points are displayed in red
  3. In the event that the victim does not move during the duration of the alarm, only one victim location point will be displayed
AlertImportant Notice: To ensure proper functionality of the ShadowGuardian app, it is essential that the app remains open and running on the phone at all times. This means the app should never be removed or swiped away from the menu that shows all of your running and recently used apps. This will result in the app being terminated. When the app is terminated, especially on devices with limited or low system memory, it may not be able to carry out critical background functions, such as updating the victim's location and providing proximity notifications.
Alert
Protocols for "Within Exclusion Zone" and "Within Exclusion Zone Buffer Zone" MUST be set up for the enrollee for victim notifications to trigger. For more information on how to set up protocol groups, please refer to the article here
ShadowGuardian can be downloaded by downloading the EnrolleeApp and entering in the Victim's credentials. This solution is compatible for both Android and iOS phones.
For information on how to set up a Victim Profile, refer to the article here.
ShadowGuardian provides accurate, real-time monitoring through the EnrolleeApp on the victim's phone. The victim must be logged into the app as well as carry their mobile device at all times for alerts to take place.
Alert
When a victim’s phone memory is running low, a push notification is sent to their device advising them to close unused apps to free up space. Low memory can interfere with the device’s ability to process location updates, which may affect location reporting accuracy.
Alarms will ONLY be generated during an event if the Victim is logged into the app. If the Victim is not logged in, an alarm will not trigger.

Disclaimer: Use of ShadoWatch and ShadowDevice for Victim/Offender Association

The ShadoWatch and ShadowDevice are not recommended for use in victim/offender association, including but not limited to proximity alert notifications. This recommendation is based, in substantial part, on known connectivity limitations associated with the devices, which may be especially pronounced in rural or low-coverage areas.

In the event that either device is nonetheless used for the purpose of notifying victims of proximity breaches by respective offenders, it is strongly advised that the device’s location update frequency be configured to a minimum interval of one (1) minute. Users are hereby notified that such configuration will significantly increase battery consumption, thereby necessitating more frequent charging of the offender’s device.

Under no circumstances shall Shadowtrack be held liable for any consequences arising from the use of these devices for victim/offender association purposes, including failures due to connectivity or battery-related issues.
