Pursuit Mode allows for the location frequency of a ShadowCuff to increase to 15-second tracking, allowing officers to receive 4 location points per minute. In the event of someone absconding, Pursuit Mode can be enabled within the platform to allow the officer real-time location information. When this has been enabled, a message will appear prompting the user to acknowledge that Pursuit Mode will significantly drain the device's battery.
Pursuit Mode
- To activate Pursuit Mode for an enrollee using ShadowCuff, navigate to the "Hardware" tab or use the "Actions" button below the universal search bar in the enrollee's profile
- Select the "Actions" dropdown button.
- Select the green button labeled "Activate Pursuit Mode".
- A window will appear prompting the user to acknowledge that the location interval will significantly drain the battery. A reason is required to be typed into the text field before selecting "Confirm".
- Location intervals will default to 15 seconds, and this can be seen within the enrollee's location history.
- A red bar will appear above the location's map labeled "Pursuit Mode" with a 10-minute countdown.
- The map will refresh with each new point obtained and auto-center with each refresh.
- Locations obtained while pursuit mode is activated will display in the location's history list, labeling each point as "Pursuit Mode"
- Pursuit Mode can be disabled by selecting the red button labeled "Deactivate Pursuit Mode". Once disabled, the location frequency of the enrollee's GPS device will return to its previously configured interval.
- Pursuit Mode will automatically disable after 10 minutes. This is to avoid the ShadowCuff battery from depleting. An officer can disable pursuit mode before the configured 10-minute time frame. Pursuit Mode can also be reactivated after the 10-minute mark.
- Pursuit Mode is available on both the desktop version and the mobile version of the platform. To activate "Pursuit Mode" in the mobile version, select the "Hardware" tab > "Actions" > "Activate Pursuit Mode".
Extend Pursuit Mode
When the 10-minute timer reaches 2 minutes remaining, a button will display on the location map, just to the right of the timer, labeled "Extend Pursuit Mode". Selecting this button will restart the 10-minute timer, allowing the pursuit mode to continue. If this button is not selected, the pursuit mode will end once the timer reaches 00:00.

- Pursuit Mode can be engaged when viewing the platform from the mobile web version. To enable Pursuit Mode in the Mobile Version, follow the steps below:
