Moving Hardware to Out of Service (OOS)

Moving Hardware to Out of Service (OOS)

Hardware within an entity's inventory can be moved to Out of Service for various reasons. Hardware can also be moved to Out of Service when unassigning a device from an enrollee. To move hardware to Out of Service, follow the steps below:

Make Out of Service

  1. Select the "Devices" tab within the Navigational Menu
  2. Select the "Inventory" tab
  3. Devices can be searched from the list, or filtered by selecting the "Search" button. Filter options are:
    1. Device ID
    2. Entity
    3. Installer
    4. Assigned User
    5. Regional ID
    6. Lot
    7. Active SIM
  4. Once a filter(s) has been selected, click "Apply Filter"
  5. "Reset Filter" will clear all filter fields
  6. Once the device has been selected, click "Make Out of Service"
    1. Select an "Out of Service Reason" from the dropdown selection
    2. A note must be entered before moving the device to Out of Service. If a note is not entered, the action will not take place.
Info
If the OOS reason was selected incorrectly, a SysAdmin can change the reason to be correct. An audit trail has also been implemented to view any changes to the OOS reason.
Alert
Devices that have been moved to Out of Service cannot be reassigned.
Info
When a device has been marked Out of Service, an email will be sent to support@shadowtrack.com. The email will contain the out-of-service reason, note, device ID, entity, and the above entity.
