Create a ShadoWatch Schedule

Create a ShadoWatch Schedule

Purpose of Creating a ShadoWatch Schedule

A watch schedule should be created anytime that you want to determine if the enrollee is inside or outside of a specific inclusion or exclusion zone. Although the ShadoWatch will report the tracking location of the enrollee every few minutes, you must have a schedule in place to be notified of zone violations.
  1. Go to the enrollee profile you would like to add the schedule for
  2. Go to the "Schedule" tab
  3. Select the "Device" sub tab
The times displayed on the calendar within the Schedule tab are determined by the timezone set on the user’s computer, not the timezone specified in their platform profile.

Create the Schedule

  1. Select "+Schedule" button
  2. Fill in the schedule fields as follows:
    1. Zone - This field indicates the zone that is associated with the schedule. The zone will be used to determine if an enrollee is inside or outside of the designated area during the scheduled hours. Multiple zones of the same type (inclusion/exclusion) can be associated to one schedule. Inclusion and Exclusion zones cannot be assigned to the same schedule, meaning two separate schedules would need to be created.
Notes
Exclusion zones created for enrollees will display as 24-hour schedules. To customize an exclusion zone with specific hours of operation, or to add exceptions, create a schedule using the exclusion zone with a start and end time. When a schedule is created and associated to an exclusion zone, the "24-hour Schedule" label is removed in the Zones tab.
Use case: If an enrollee has inclusion zones for both work and home assigned to one schedule, and the enrollee stays home from work sick, the user will not be notified because either zone would still be considered compliant.
    1. Zone Type -The type of zone will be listed next to the zones name within the dropdown menu. This will automatically create either an inclusion or exclusion schedule based on the zone selected.
    2. Window Start Date/Time - Indicates when the schedule period starts
    3. Window End Date/Time - Indicates when the schedule period ends
    4. All Day - Allows you to set an all day start and end time. This option is typically used for an 24 hour inclusion or exclusion zone schedule
    5. Recurrence - Designates how often the schedule occurs. Never (one time schedule), Daily (7 days a week), Weekly (select specific days), and Every Week Day (M-F)
    6. Schedule Exceptions - Allows you to enter specific times when the enrollee is excused from being at the zone associated with the schedule. Zone alarms will not be generated during this time. Exceptions can also be set to recurring if needed. Recurrence can be selected to "Never", "Daily" (everyday), "Weekly" (selected days), and "Every Week Day" (Mon-Fri)
    7. Select "Save" to create the schedule
Notes
When a device schedule has a specified end date, schedule exceptions cannot be created to occur beyond that end date. Additionally, any recurring schedule exceptions will also end on the device schedule end date.
Alert
Schedule Exceptions only pertain to zone alarms. All other alarms, such as Battery Critical, Device Comm Timeout, etc, will still trigger during an exception window.
Notes
Schedule Exception Notes are displayed on the enrollee's schedule calendar, making it easy to identify the purpose of each scheduled exception.
The Audit History button will show any changes made to a device schedule after it has been created.

Drag-and-Drop Scheduling

Users can intuitively create schedules by drag-and-drop, allowing the user to visualize the time frame on the calendar while creating schedules.
  1. Open the schedule calendar by either day or week view
  2. Choose a start time – Click on the time slot where you want the event to begin.
  3. Drag to select the end time – Hold your mouse button and drag down to cover the time range.
    1. If the end time crosses over into the following day, simply slide the mouse over to the next day’s column and keep dragging until the desired end time.
  4. Release the mouse – The time block is now scheduled.
  5. You will now select the schedule type, configure the recurrence schedule and select "Save".
