ShadowSafety - Field Visits
ShadowSafety is a solution that allows officers to check in and check out when conducting field visits with their enrollees. This solution allows for configurable time limits, officer-set PIN numbers, location tracking and supervisor escalations in the event of a duress situation. This solution is available to officers using the Mobile Version of the ShadowtrackONE platform.
ShadowSafety - Field Visits
Using the Mobile Version of the ShadowtrackONE platform, tap the menu icon and select "ShadowSafety".
- The officer will select the "Start Field Visit" button
- A list of active enrollees will populate, allowing the officer to select the enrollee they are conducting their visit with.
- The location of the officer's mobile device is obtained at this time.
- When selecting the enrollees name, the Field Visit begins. The screen displays the enrollee's name, Check-in Date, Time Remaining, and a free text Note section for the officer to take notes during their visit.
- The "Extend Field Visit" button allows the officer to extend past the 15-minute timer. The officer will enter their PIN number and select "Extend Field Visit".
- The "End Field Visit" button allows the officer to end the visit before the 15-minute timer.
- If the PIN number is entered incorrectly, for either Extend or End Field Visit, the message "PIN not recognized. Please try again." will appear.
- If the Duress PIN is entered, the message will read "Field visit ended/extended successfully", and the duress notification is sent out to all Duress Recipients in the officer's entity.
Setting the Officer PIN and Time Limit
Each officer can set their own 4-digit PIN number to enter when using the ShadowSafety solution. This is configured in the officer's Settings tab.
- Navigate to your officer profile
- Select the "Settings" tab
- Select "Edit"
- Enter the desired 4-digit PIN number in the ShadowSafety> PIN field
- Enter the desired visit time limit in the Time Limit section
- Select "Save"
Officer PIN number and Time Limit can be changed at any point by following the above-listed steps
Setting the Entity Duress PIN and Duress Recipients
A TenantAdmin can access the ShadowSafety entity settings from the entity profile, allowing the TenantAdmin to set a universal Duress PIN and Duress Recipients Notifications list
- Navigate to the entity's profile
- Select the "Settings" tab
- Select the "Service Settings" sub-tab
- Select the "ShadowSafety" sub-tab
- Select "Edit" to configure the entity-wide 4-digit Duress PIN, and configure the "Time to Wait After Check Expires". This field indicates the number of minutes notifications are delayed after an officer fails to end or extend a field visit. Once the configured amount of time is reached, notifications will be sent out according to the configured Duress Recipients list.
- Select "+Recipient" to add a recipient to the duress notifications list
- Enter the recipient's name, email address, and phone number (for SMS message notifications)
- There is no limit on how many Duress Recipients can be created
- Duress notifications go out to all recipients listed at the same time
Viewing Officer ShadowSafety Check-Ins
All ShadowSafety Check-Ins are logged within the officer's profile and can be viewed at any time
- Navigate to the officer's profile tab
- Select the "ShadowSafety" sub-tab
- The list displays all of the officer's ShadowSafety Check-Ins and displays the following information
- Enrollee Name (Enrollee officer selected during the field visit)
- Check In (Date and Time stamp)
- Check Out (Date and Time stamp)
- Durations (Length of ShadowSafety visit in minutes)
- Note (If a note is entered during the visit, it will display here)
- To view the details of a specific visit, double-click on the row
- A pop-up window will appear, displaying all information pertaining to the field visit
- Enrollee name, ID number and enrollment photo
- Check-In and Check-Out date and time stamp
- Note (if one was entered during the visit)
- In the table below, all interactions during the visit are logged. This includes the date/time stamp, type, lat/long, accuracy (in meters) and map location icon. Clicking the map location icon will display the map with the officer's location pin shown.
- In the "Notifications" section below, any duress notifications are logged to display date/time, phone number, email and message sent.

If a ShadowSafety visit is still in progress, the Check Out, Duration, and Note fields will be empty within the logs. This information will display once the visit has ended.
