"Mock Location" Compliance Result (Android Devices)
When a compliance call returns a compliance result of "Mock Location", this could indicate that the enrollee is using a Mock Location Provider or a fake GPS app. These apps "spoof" the device's actual location, returning a false location point. These apps are used for various reasons, such as location-based gaming, route simulation, or location privacy. When seeing this compliance result, it is HIGHLY recommended to inspect the enrollee's device for a Mock Location app/setting.
Commonly Used Mock Location Apps
- Fake GPS Location (Lexa)
- Fake GPS Joystick & Routes Go
- Fake GPS Location – GPS JoyStick
- Mock GPS with Joystick
- Fake Location
- GPS Emulator

Using Bluetooth in-car speakers or other Bluetooth devices while a location is obtained does NOT result in a mock location. Mock locations are determined by the location services within the mobile device itself.
