ShadowBriety: A Guide to Using the BACtrack Device

ShadowBriety: A Guide to Using the BACtrack Device

How The Service Works

The enrollee will utilize the EnrolleeApp to take random sobriety (Alcohol) tests using the BACtrack Mobile Pro device. You will create a schedule to designate when and how often the enrollee completes sobriety tests. The enrollee will blow into the BACtrack device. The results will be logged on the compliance tab of the enrollee's profile and/or you will receive an automated email notification if a test results in positive detection of alcohol.

  • BACtrack Mobile Pro Device: The BACtrack Mobile Pro device can be purchased through BACtrack's network of retail partners. For convenience and to explore purchasing options, visit the official BACtrack website at: BACtrack Retail Partners.

Calibration

If your breathalyzer is providing inconsistent test results, is not providing any test results, or provides unusually high or low test results, the product should be calibrated immediately by a trained professional. We recommends that you calibrate your breathalyzer at least once every 12 months. It’s also worth remembering that if a breathalyzer isn’t used for a period of time—say, 4-5 weeks—the sensor can dry out. We suggest that even if you don’t plan on using your breathalyzer for a while, turn the unit on and breathe into it at least once a month in order to keep the sensor in good working condition.
  1. How long will it take to calibrate my breathalyzer?
    1. After the BACtrack device is received, it will take 5-7 business days to calibrate and service your unit, and 5-7 business days to ship the unit back to you - a total of 10-14 business days. Please allow for a longer ship time during the holidays.
  2. Can I recalibrate my BACtrack myself?
    1. No. To correctly calibrate our breathalyzers, it requires the use of advanced breath alcohol simulators and trained BACtrack Calibration Technicians.
  3. What happens to my unit if I don’t get it calibrated regularly?
    1. A BACtrack Breathalyzer that hasn’t been calibrated regularly may not provide accurate readings.
