Creating a Victim Profile
Creating a Victim Profile

ShadowGuardian is available for both Android and iOS phones by downloading the EnrolleeApp.
To create a Victim profile follow the steps below:
- Locate the "Victims" Tab within the Navigational Menu in the profiles section.
- Select "+Victim".
- Use the one-step Enrollment Wizard to enter all necessary information.

Only the fields in red are required, but you can fill in non-required fields for informational purposes.
If there is an entity to assign for the victim, they can be selected from the dropdown menu on this page. Otherwise the entity will default to your entity.
You can also assign the enrollee from this page, or you can save the profile and add the enrollee at a later time.
To assign an enrollee after saving the victim profile follow these steps:.
Navigate to the victim's profile page.
Select the "Services" tab from the menu located below the victim's name.
Select "Edit".
Click the "Assigned Enrollees" dropdown. From here you can enter the enrollee's name or scroll through the menu.
An SOS phone number can also be entered here for emergency calling within the app. This can be done in the victim's Services > Settings.
Once the Victim has logged in with their credentials, the Victim Service Agreement will display on their phone, and must scroll down to accept the Terms of Service. This acknowledgment can be seen within the Victim's profile by clicking the "Profile" tab > "Enrollment Information". Each time the Victim logs out of the app, they will have to re-acknowledge the agreement when logging in. This date will update each time within their profile.

In order for the victim to receive alerts, a protocol must be set up for the enrollee. To do this, you will need to create a protocol group within the entity level.

The created zone around the victim is defaulted to 1000 ft (304 m). This can be configured in the "Settings" tab of the victim's profile to increase or decrease the radius.

Alarms will ONLY be generated in during event if the Victim is logged into the app. If the Victim is not logged in, an alarm will not trigger.
Creating a Protocol Group for the Enrollee
A protocol group must be assigned to the enrollee for the victim to receive notifications. To configure this, follow the steps below:
- Go to the entity profile, select "Protocol Groups" > "+Protocol Group".
- You will name your protocol group, select the device type, and select "+Protocol".
- The alarm type should be set to "Within Exclusion Zone".
- Next you will create an action. Select "Push Notification" from the dropdown menu.
- Action type will default to "Automated". It is recommended to keep this setting to ensure real-time alerts.
- In recipient type select "Victim".
- In the "Message" field, a standard alert is set. ("Alert!! *EnrolleeName* is in your area.")
- It is recommended to create a second "alarm protocol" to notify the assigned officer as well. You can achieve this through " Send SMS", "Send Email", or "Phone Call.
For every "alarm protocol", a "clear protocol" is recommended, but not required. If you would like the victim and assigned officer(s) to be notified of the cleared alarm, it is encouraged to set this up.

A protocol can also be assigned to the enrollee in Step 4 of the Enrollment Wizard.
Once protocols have been set up and applied to the enrollee within the platform, the Victim will receive alerts if the enrollee enters into the Victim's floating zone.

Violations can be found in both the enrollee and victim profiles. These can be found in the "Alarms" sub-tab located within the "History" tab in either profile. The enrollee's profile will state "Within Exclusion Zone" as well as list the name of the victim in the Alarm Type column. The victim's profile will state the enrollee's name and "Within Exclusion Zone" in the Alarm Type column.

Disclaimer: Use of ShadoWatch and ShadowDevice for Victim/Offender Association
The ShadoWatch and ShadowDevice are not recommended for use in victim/offender association, including but not limited to proximity alert notifications. This recommendation is based, in substantial part, on known connectivity limitations associated with the devices, which may be especially pronounced in rural or low-coverage areas.
In the event that either device is nonetheless used for the purpose of notifying victims of proximity breaches by respective offenders, it is strongly advised that the device’s location update frequency be configured to a minimum interval of one (1) minute. Users are hereby notified that such configuration will significantly increase battery consumption, thereby necessitating more frequent charging of the offender’s device.
Under no circumstances shall Shadowtrack be held liable for any consequences arising from the use of these devices for victim/offender association purposes, including failures due to connectivity or battery-related issues.
